The present study was conducted with the aim of identifying differences in effective strategies for improving the quality of relationships between adolescents and employed versus homemaker mothers. This research employed a qualitative approach using Braun and Clarke's (2006) thematic analysis method. Sampling was purposive and convenience-based, continuing until data saturation was achieved. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, with a total of 16 adolescent girls aged 14 to 18 participating, including eight with employed mothers and eight with homemaker mothers. The main themes for families with homemaker mothers were: empathetic communication and mutual respect, participation in household affairs and strengthening adolescent responsibility, preserving personal privacy and mutual trust, attributing meaning to the maternal and homemaking role, and external social bonding and role modeling. In contrast, for families with employed mothers, the main themes included: optimizing shared time with the adolescent, attitudinal transformation and acceptance of generational differences, using technology to sustain emotional relationships, balancing authority and adolescent freedom, and role modeling in independence and personal growth. The proposed strategies include strengthening empathy, mutual participation, respecting adolescent independence, purposeful use of technology, and positive maternal role modeling. The results of this study provide a contextual and practical framework for family counselors, psychologists, and policymakers to enhance the quality of mother-adolescent relationships and family well-being.
