The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of adolescent differentiation in relation to perceived parenting styles and adolescent-parent conflict. The descriptive research method was correlation and structural equation modeling. The research community consisted of all male and female students of the second secondary school (10th to 12th grade) studying in schools in Tehran in the second half of the academic year 2023-2024. A number of 250 people were selected as a sample using available sampling method. The research tools included Robbins' (1994) Parental Perception Questionnaire (POPS), Prince's (1979) Parental Conflict Questionnaire (1979) and Derrick's (2011) Self-Differentiation Questionnaire (DSI-SH). The results showed the optimal fit of the research model. The mediating role of adolescent differentiation was confirmed in relation to the two styles of supporting the child's autonomy and parental warmth with the adolescent's parent conflict (p<0.05). Considering the impact of perceived parenting styles and differentiation in parent-teen conflict, it is suggested to focus on these two variables and increase parents' awareness of the impact of these variables on their children through workshops and individual and family counseling sessions.
