Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effect of short-term solution-focused therapy on the self-concept and assertiveness of male students in the second year of elementary school in Selsele County in the first half of 1402. This study was a quasi-experimental design with pre-test-post-test and control group, and its statistical population included male students in elementary school in Selsele County, who were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental (15) and control (15) groups. To investigate the effectiveness of solution-focused therapy, Gambrill and Rigi's assertiveness questionnaires and the Pirzo Harris Children's Self-Concept Questionnaire were used. After the pre-test for both groups, 6 60-minute sessions were provided to the experimental group in a group setting, twice a week, but the control group did not receive training. After the sessions, both groups were given a post-test and the data were analyzed by analysis of covariance. Overall, the findings of the present study supported the main hypotheses of the study, and the results showed the effectiveness of a short-term solution-focused group therapy protocol on the self-concept and assertiveness skills of male elementary school students.
